Spring’s Arrival 2021

It felt like spring officially arrived today in West Michigan. Every spring is different. That’s what makes this love of gardening, yardening and backyarding so much fun. Soil temperatures in West Michigan made it into the 60’s April 7 and 8, 2021 and the earth is waking up all around us. For those interested in their lawns now would be the perfect time to apply crabgrass pre-emergence products (Step One of Flowerland 4-step plans). With warming air temperatures, some rain and warming soil temperatures we will see all kinds of blooming and growth in our neighborhoods. Let’s celebrate! The first set of photos were taken on April 8, 2021 as the landscape wakes up from its winter nap. And under the heading of “how soon we forget” the second set of photos are from April 15, 2020 when the landscape was blanketed with snow. Click on images to enlarge.
