It’s Prime Time For Seed Starting!

We are roughly 6 to 8 weeks out from our average last frost in West Michigan (typically around Mother’s Day), which means it is prime time seed starting time.

Check the back of your seed packages to see when to plant. Many of our seasonal favorites like tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers should be started inside now (6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost) so they are ready for hardening off and planting in our gardens. Other favorites like zucchini and summer squash can be started indoors 2 to 4 weeks before the last frost date.
