So what exactly is a grub? We’re not talking about the kind people eat, we’re talking about the kind critters like moles and skunks eat. Grubs are actually bug larvae (like baby Japanese Beetles) and they feed on the roots of your grass, which causes brown spots (aka damage) in your lawn. In addition, you have the critters who eat them digging up your lawn to find lunch. To rid your lawn of the mature grubs at this time of year, Flowerland Recommends applying a product that contains Dylox, which “quick kills” full sized grub.
Speaking of bugs, now is the time of year Lady Bugs and Box Elder Bugs will start congregating on the south side of the house. Their goal is to get into your house and winter where it’s warm. Flowerland Recommends spraying the south side of your house with a spray containing Cyfluthrin (outside only). Stop in and we’ll be happy to talk you through it.
