And so we begin…

I am so excited to bring you my first post. I have thought alot about what I was going to say, what my post would be about, but that has all gone by the wayside. Instead, I am simply going to introduce myself, and share a few  thoughts.

I am orginally from the “other side of the state” near Ann Arbor.  I came to West Michigan to attend Grand Valley State University for Biology.  Instead I came out with an emphasis in Botany, Aquatics and Genetics and I aquired my BFA in printmaking in 2003. I have been a long-time private estate gardener on and off for about 16 years now, and love helping people design and take care of  their yards.

Over the years there is one thing about me that has never changed.  I love nature, gardening and art/design.  My nature and gardening passion stems back to the days of gardening with my grandmother, and watching birds with my grandfather.  My grandmother was a teacher and always took the time to answer my questions about plants, and my grandfather was part of the Audubon Society and an amateur arborist who always made sure I could identify whatever passed me by.  It is to them that I dedicate this blog, and I hope that I can pass on  my enthusiasm on to you in a down-to-earth and honest manner.
